This Privacy Policy explains how Mettle handles information when you use the Mettle habit tracker on iPhone or iPad. In this policy, “Mettle,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Mettle app and its developer.
Information we collect
We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share personal information through Mettle. The app does not require an account and does not include advertising, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics.
Information stored on your device
Mettle stores the information you create locally on your device. This can include habits, schedules, completion history, streaks, XP, coins, achievements, preferences, and focus settings.
This information is used only to provide Mettle’s features on your device. We do not receive or remotely access it.
Screen Time and Family Controls
If you use Focus features, Mettle asks for authorization through Apple’s Screen Time and Family Controls frameworks. App and category selections are represented by Apple-provided tokens and are processed locally so Mettle can apply the protections you choose.
Your Screen Time authorization, selections, and activity are not transmitted to us. Apple’s handling of its system services is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.
Backups and exports
When you choose to create, import, export, or share a backup, that action is initiated and controlled by you. The file is handled on your device and by the destination you select. Mettle does not upload backups to a developer-operated server.
Data retention and deletion
Because Mettle does not collect your data, we do not retain it on our servers. You can remove data by deleting it within the app, clearing the app’s data, or uninstalling the app. Files you exported are controlled by the location where you saved them.
Children’s privacy
Mettle does not knowingly collect personal information from children or any other users.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Mettle or applicable requirements. The revised policy will show a new “Last updated” date on this page.
